If you’re looking for a Christmas themed workout that you can do at home or at the gym this year, then you’re in luck! The 12 Days of Christmas Workout is one that can come with SO many variations each year, and you’ll see different versions at CrossFit gyms and bootcamp classes all over the world.
I’ve written this workout so many different ways myself, but this year is going out to all my at-home friends who can’t make it to a gym. All you need is your body and a growth mindset!
12 Days of Christmas Workout
This workout is meant to be FUN! Grab a friend or kiddo and have them do it with you while listening to your favorite Christmas tunes! (Like old school NSync and Mariah Carey).
How to complete:
Just like the song says. You’ll start with “On the first day of Christmas, my trainer gave to me.. a 20 second plank” – and do a 20 second plank. Then you’ll move down the list.. “On the second day of Christmas, my trainer gave to me: 2 tricep dips and a 20 second plank.” (Meaning you’ll do the 2 tricep dips, followed by a 20 second plank). Everything coordinates with the number assigned, with the exception of the 20 second plank and 45 second wall sit (obviously a 1 second plank and 12 second wall sit doesn’t make much sense).
You’ll do this for each, adding the next new thing and moving back down the list to complete the reps you’ve already done. If it gets to be too intense, or ends up taking too long. Don’t worry. It’s just a good way to get your heart rate up and your body moving. Be sure to warm up prior to working out! Choose your favorite stretches, do some jumping jacks. Anything to loosen your muscles and get your body ready for activity.
