Craving donuts? Me too. Luckily, this easy gluten free donuts recipe is one you can add to your meal prep this week so you can enjoy a sweet treat while you binge watch Firefly Lane.
Full disclosure: I can literally take zero credit in coming up with this recipe. In fact, it’s not even a donut recipe. It’s honestly a recipe that comes on the back of a cupcake/muffin box, and I just happened to buy a cute donut mold and take some cute pictures.
But sometimes, friends. Sometimes that’s how the best donuts are born.
Easy Gluten Free Donuts Recipe
I’ll tell ya something. When you don’t eat gluten, OR dairy, and you’re wanting a donut, these babies will do the trick. So for that – you’re welcome. For the rest, you can thank Simple Mills.
One piece of advice, plan your baking time and ingredients accordingly. The chocolate mix is a muffin and cake mix, and the vanilla mix is a cake and cupcake mix. What this means.. is that yes they’re both delicious, but sometimes I’ve noticed the finished product with the chocolate mix comes out a little more dry than the vanilla mix.
What you’ll need:
- 1 box of Simple Mills Chocolate or Vanilla Mix
- 3 eggs
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup coconut oil
- 1 tbsp vanilla
What you’ll do:
- Follow the instructions on the back of your Simple Mills Box 😉
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F
- Grease your donut pan
- Whisk all ingredients together
- Pour batter into donut pan (do not fill to line, otherwise they may overflow a little – not a big deal, they just won’t have that perfectly round shape. You can see in my photos I filled the pan a little high)
- Bake for 15-20 minutes
You can make muffins, cupcakes, donuts, or whatever 😉 For fun, I melted a little bit of almond butter in the microwave and drizzled on top!
Another fave? Add some sprinkles because sprinkles make everything better.
