Here comes Amazon, here comes Amazon, right up my driveway..
Okay, full transparency, I saw that on a meme from Her View From Home last Christmas. I wish I had been that clever. Anyway, although I’ll be the first to admit that I LOVE the simplicity and convenience Amazon has to offer, I really feel this year we need to shop small and support our business owner friends. Owning and operating a business during a pandemic is no easy task. These amazing businesses deserve to be recognized, and it’s fun to shop outside the big box and find one of a kind items you can surprise your loved ones with.
I’m sharing a mix of different businesses definitely worth checking out as you begin your holiday shopping. You can shop in person, or online (I’d recommend ordering soon – I have a feeling shipping is about to get WILD the closer we get to Christmas). The only thing I ask is if you find something really cool, you send me a message so I have the opportunity to snag one, too 😉
Shop outside the (big) box this holiday season and support your favorite small businesses
One of my favorites! Saints Boutique in Davenport, Iowa is home to the trendiest clothes and cutest gifts you could ask for. Owned by a dynamic mother-daughter pair, the ladies at Saints contuiously bring in merchandise that caters to everyone. Extended sizing, gorgeous accessories, tongue in cheek candles, and pet accessories ensure that you will find the perfect gift for any lady on your list. Bonus: if you shop online, use this exclusive discount code to save (and if you live local, just select “local pickup” at checkout to save on shipping costs!): code: NATASHA10.
Lillie & Pine
Have you ever thought it would be possible to take a hobby and a little Christmas money and turn it into your dream business? That’s exactly what the owners of Lillie & Pine did. The mother daughter duo behind the brand strives to bring natural, handmade products to fit your lifestyle and skincare needs. From the detailed packaging to the amazing MUST SMELL scents, Lillie & Pine has a little bit of something for everyone on your list.
Want to be labeled as the cool parent this Christmas? Original Skateboards will automatically earn you that title. Their motto? You are free to fly. Even if this mom has to change it to “you’re free to fly – just not in the middle of the street and watch for cars, k?!” Home of the longboard, Original Skateboards will check off every box your kiddo has on his or her Christmas list.
I first fell in love with grayc glass in 2019, and that love affair has completely continued. I’m not just saying it when I rave about these are my FAVORITE earrings. Courtney Gray is the owner and mastermind behind this beautiful handmade jewelry company, and I promise you when you order a gift, you’ll buy something for yourself, too 😉 (If you want to read my first review of grayc glass, check it out here).
Lauren Mackenzie Decals
Custom cold cups to show off your favorite Starbucks beverages? Um, yes please! Seriously what’s more fun than that?! Lauren Mackenzie Decals has been my go-to Etsy Shop when it comes to buying the cutest gifts for my gal pals. Add this shop to your favorites, because I guarantee you will keep coming back for more!I have no pictures to share because every time I’ve purchased something from this shop it gets given away as a gift! (Hint to my Secret Santa, I want one!)
The Bag Broker
What girl doesn’t love a little luxury in her life? The Bag Broker is a MUST for anyone who deserves to be spoiled this holiday season. They feature exclusive merchandise and hard-to-find items; both new and preloved authentic luxury handbags and accessories all under retail. The Bag Broker also offers consignment options and layaway plans, and the best part – is you get a luxury experience in their showroom without having to go into the big city.
